Tyler Calabrese

Hi, I'm Tyler. I'm from Houston, Texas, USA originally and live in NYC now.

I am a software developer, currently working in the finance industry. I write a lot of C++ and take care of my firm's Bazel setup. I got my B.A. in Computer Science and English from Tufts University in 2022. Some of my favorite classes were Concurrent Programming, Milton, Introduction to Cybersecurity, and Feminist Science Fiction.

Digital privacy is my passion. What began a few years ago as a simple effort to get my own digital hygeine in order has turned into my guiding goal in life: to make digital privacy attainable for everyone, including people with accessibility needs, criminalized and marginalized people, and folks who simply don't have the free time or technical knowledge that I do. My ultimate dream is to be one of the world's foremost experts on this, and actually move the needle on achieving policy and cultural shifts that put agency back in the hands of end users.

In my free time, I like to code, read books, spend time with friends, lounge in the park, learn new things, and play video games. I am a Quaker and a tennis fan.

My most recent introduction post can be found here. My résumé is here. You're more than welcome to check out my blog. I write about tech a bit, and I write about my personal life a bit.
